Installing a Plugin in WordPress
WordPress plugins are tools that can extend the functionality of a WordPress website. Installing a WordPress plugin is a fairly straightforward process.
- Access to the WordPress dashboard
- An active WordPress account
Step 1: Log into the WordPress Dashboard
Open your preferred web browser and navigate to the WordPress login page. Enter your username and password to log in to the WordPress dashboard.
Step 2: Select the Plugin Menu
Once logged in, click on the “Plugins” menu located in the left-hand side menu of the WordPress dashboard.
Step 3: Select the Add New Option
Once on the plugins page, click on the “Add New” option located at the top of the page.
Step 4: Search for the Plugin
On the “Add Plugins” page, you can search for the plugin by entering the name in the search field. Alternatively, you can browse the available plugins by selecting the “Featured,” “Popular,” or “Recommended” tabs.
Step 5: Install the Plugin
Once you’ve found the plugin you’re looking for, click on the “Install Now” button to begin the installation process.
Step 6: Activate the Plugin
Once the plugin has been successfully installed, click on the “Activate Plugin” link to activate it.
Step 7: Configure the Plugin
Once the plugin has been activated, you can configure its settings by navigating to the “Settings” tab located in the left-hand side menu of the WordPress dashboard.
